Homarus Inc. is a non-profit research and development organization created by the Maritime Fishermen's Union in 2001 whose mission is to develop tools to ensure the sustainability of the lobster resource and its fishery.
Our objectives:
- Develop practical and effective approaches for enhancing the lobster habitat and resource;
- Develop practical and effective approaches for enhancing fishermen economic viability;
- Increase scientific knowledge surrounding lobster biology and its habitat;
- Serve as and educational tool for raising awareness amongst stakeholders concerning the importance of conserving the lobster resource and habitat.
